Order in council concerning the establishment, the division, the delimitation and the merging of taxi areas

An Act respecting transportation services by taxi
 (2001, c. 15, s. 79 subpar. 4; after consolidation: R.S.Q., c. S-6.01)

1.   The Commission des transports du Québec takes into account the following general criteria and factors to establish, divide, delimit or merge taxi areas in the territory of a municipal or supramunicipal authority:

  (1)    preservation of the continuity of the urban fabric;

  (2)    consolidation of zones of influence and zones with which people identify themselves;

  (3)    the territorial delimitation of municipalities, regional county municipalities and metropolitan communities.

2.   The Commission considers, to establish and delimit the first areas, the taxi areas established under the Act respecting transportation by taxi (R.S.Q., c. T-11.1) and the mergers of certain municipal territories although, in the latter case, the territory of a taxi area does not have to correspond to the territory of a borough.
